Financial Aid at Arbor
Finding the right school is an investment in your child’s future. While we are a tuition-based school, Arbor offers financial aid so that we may enroll and retain students who could not otherwise afford to attend. We aim to create a community that is socioeconomically diverse. Our school offers need-based grants to families on a yearly basis, and our program is funded by the philanthropic efforts of our parent body via the Annual Fund.
Financial assistance is available to current families, transfer students, and prospective families beginning at age three in our Primary level.
Every family receiving assistance is asked to pay some portion of the tuition; there are no awards for 100% of tuition. Financial assistance is not automatically renewed. Families who receive financial assistance must reapply each year.
The Apogee Scholarship Fund
Through our partnership with Apogee Georgia School Choice Scholarship Fund, you can contribute to the Financial Aid program at Arbor and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit off your Georgia state taxes. Your contribution is held in a fund managed by Apogee to help provide tuition assistance to eligible Arbor students who, otherwise, would not be able to afford full tuition.
The Financial Aid Tax Credit (FATC) program provides an opportunity for Georgia taxpayers to redirect Georgia income tax dollars to provide financial aid assistance to incoming Arbor students that are eligible for entry into public school (ages 4, 5, and 6) OR who transfer to Arbor from public school or have been homeschooled.

The Jan Deason Scholarship Fund
Jan Deason retired in 2017 after more than 30 years of service to Arbor Montessori School. She served as Head of School from 2008 to 2017. Jan’s many accomplishments during her tenure at Arbor include founding the Adolescent Program, establishing a permanent home on Scott Boulevard for our second campus (formerly located at the Emory Presbyterian Church) and guiding the opening of Arbor’s first Toddler Program. Jan came to Arbor as a parent in 1984 and was initially hired as a Primary assistant. She taught in Lower Elementary from 1986-1991 and then opened Arbor’s second Upper Elementary class. In 1997, she founded Arbor’s Adolescent Program (AP), which has thrived over the past two decades and is known nationwide as a model Montessori middle school.
In honor of Jan’s dedication to the founding and continuation of the Adolescent Program, Arbor Montessori established the Jan Deason Adolescent Program Scholarship Fund to help students continue their Montessori education through their 8th year.
