A Fundraising Thank You from Upper Elementary

Thank you so much for your generous donations to the hurricane relief fundraiser. As of Friday morning, we raised over $1,100. After learning more about how the Red Cross allocates resources, we have switched the organization we donate to ensure that the most money reaches those in need.  

We will still donate to hurricane relief, but we have changed to World Central Kitchen, an organization that provides hot meals and water to the local community. They produce the food in still-functional local restaurants and use helicopters to deliver it to areas inaccessible by road. Here are some local organizations in Western North Carolina that are offering direct aid to this community. All donations go directly to this work.
