Arbor’s admissions season has officially kicked off! Erica has added smaller tours in addition to Info Tours and Guided Observations. After each event, Erica has noticed that applications are being generated in FACTS. Arbor is undergoing its annual financial audit and is working with Chazin, our accounting consultants, to review the current budget and streamline it for the future.

Transition conversations are underway for students transitioning from Lower to Upper and Upper to Adolescent Program, with more to follow, including “Across the Levels” and Primary to Lower Elementary transition talks.

DeKalb County officials are receiving extensive feedback from Arbor parents, resulting in a partial lift of the stop-work order. Site work will continue over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The job posting for the Head of School position is now live, and the committee will begin reviewing applicants in December.

The Audit Committee, which is new this year, is responsible for overseeing Arbor’s financial reporting and operational practices to ensure alignment with the school’s mission, adherence to internal policies, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This year, the committee’s priorities include supervising the annual financial audit, reviewing and implementing key compliance controls such as the Whistleblower and complaint policies, and assessing internal financial systems to promote efficiency and prevent fraud. In addition, the committee will review institutional integrity protocols, including data security and student safety measures, to ensure the continued protection and transparency of Arbor’s operations.

The Board adopted new goals for the year, which include the Head of School search, providing fiduciary oversight for the new building, the transition of the Scott campus, launching the high school, supporting fundraising efforts, and strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion in all school policies and procedures.
