As we begin the Spring semester and look forward to coming together on one campus, the Head of School Search Committee would like to share an update on the search process.

Over the past several months, the committee has spoken with multiple qualified candidates, and we are pleased to announce upcoming campus visits from two finalist candidates. We may add an additional finalist visit if scheduling is confirmed, and we will update the community as soon as plans are final.

These visits will give each candidate the opportunity to meet with a variety of stakeholders, spend time across classrooms and programs, and experience our community in action. There will be opportunities for parents, board members, and faculty and staff to engage with the candidates and provide feedback to the Search Committee ahead of the Board of Trustees’ final decision.

Head of School Candidates

Rachael Shaw Marshall

Rachael Shaw Marshall is an experienced Montessori educator and school leader with a strong Montessori background and leadership experience across school communities. She is drawn to Arbor’s commitment to authentic Montessori practice and to this moment of growth and transition. Rachael brings a thoughtful, organized approach to strengthening programs, supporting adults, and communicating clearly with families, while staying grounded in Montessori principles.

David M. Tyler

David M. Tyler is an internal candidate who has spent more than a decade serving Arbor as a teacher, administrator, former trustee, and parent; he currently serves as Adolescent Program Coordinator. He has been deeply involved in shaping and guiding the work of the Adolescent Program and High School, and he is committed to seeing that work succeed. David’s candidacy reflects deep investment in Arbor and a focus on what is best for the school.

As part of every finalist visit, we will be exploring how each candidate would structure leadership responsibilities and build a strong team so that the whole school is supported in a sustainable way.

Before the first visit, you can expect to see further communication about the timing of the events. A Parent Forum will be scheduled in the evening so that each candidate can engage with the community. Details on site visits and a link to submit questions has been sent directly to all currently enrolled parents.

Please direct any questions about the candidates, site visits, or the Head of School selection process to Lilly Klehr or Amanda Evans via the committee email address: hos-search@arbormontessori.org.

Thank you,
