Summer Camp
Arbor Summer Camp provides children enrolled in our Primary Program a fun, enriching experience that continues to build upon the skills learned during the school year, while offering parents maximum flexibility and convenience. Children explore weekly themes and work on creative activities and crafts within the familiar surroundings of a Montessori environment. Our trained Montessori teacher and assistant teachers provide a safe, consistent routine that encourages exploration, independence, and growth over the summer months. Summer Camp offers parents a unique opportunity to drop-off and pick-up their children as necessary throughout the day. Weekly schedules are provided so parents can work around any planned activities or crafts.
Registration for our 2025 Summer Camp Sessions will open in January 2025.
2024 Summer Camp Sessions
June 3rd – 7th: Ocean Adventures
Can’t make it to the beach this summer: no problem. Children will learn all about the amazing creatures that live in our oceans, get a chance to build sandcastles, and dig for seashells. We will have a busy week exploring the natural treasures of our oceans, coastlines, and beaches.
June 10th – 14th: Our Feathered Friends
Georgia is one of the best states for birding; you’re never too young to start! Learning to identify birds by color, size, and shape is an easy way to begin a lifelong appreciation. Children will also explore a variety of feathers and their different purposes. We will assemble and install bird feeders in the hopes of observing more birds during the summer months.
June 17th – 21st (4-Day Week): Rocks & Minerals
Every rock tells a story. Understanding how rocks and minerals are formed makes the most ordinary rock seem extraordinary. Children will learn about the forces that create and form rocks and be introduced to the wonderful world of geology. Note: there will be no camp on Wednesday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
July 8th – 12th: Creative Sewing
No matter your child’s age or skill level, we have fun sewing activities and crafts for every child. Don’t think your child is interested in sewing? Sewing can be integrated into all areas of the classroom. Cross stitch strengthens developing math skills or geography can be introduced by sewing flags. Learning to appreciate quilts, clothing, tapestry as works of art are just a few examples of how creative sewing can have a wider appeal.
July 15th – 19th: Amazing Pollinators
The summer months provide an excellent opportunity to enjoy nature and explore our outside environments. The children will have fun observing and getting to know the different pollinators that visit our garden over the summer. We will explore the different plants that attract pollinators, learn about the vital role that pollinators play in our lives, and discover why they are so amazing!
July 22nd – 26th: Reptiles & Amphibians
In addition to reading stories, singing songs, and learning about the differences between reptiles and amphibians we have a scheduled visit from My Reptile Guys on July 25th at 10am. This is a unique chance for the children to experience reptiles in a controlled, safe, and up-close way.
