How did you learn about Montessori?
I learned about Montessori education through my aunt, who has encouraged me to study this approach to learning since early adolescence. After graduating high school, I was given the opportunity to be an Elementary assistant at Pleasant Hills Montessori School. It is a small school tucked into the mountains where they incorporate subjects that I grew up doing—farming and gardening.
What’s your favorite quote?
“The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it and to foster its renewal is our only hope.” —Wendell Berry
What’s been your favorite trip?
The most memorable trip that I have been on is when I did a solo tour of Ireland and France. The thrill of living out of only a backpack and embracing the vulnerability that I felt has taught me life lessons that I will cherish forever.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies consist of traveling to North Georgia on the weekends to mountain bike, garden, hike and work on my family’s farm. In the city, I am exploring local woodland trails, reading in coffee shops, and connecting with communities around me.
