Faculty & Staff
At Arbor Montessori School, our faculty and staff model and nurture a love of lifelong learning for themselves and their students. Each and every staff member is dedicated to their work, ensuring every child feels supported in our community. Arbor teachers work to support each child's development and self discovery, building their capability to become productive, fulfilled adults who contribute to the world. In addition to their college degrees, all lead teachers from the Toddler through Elementary level hold diplomas from the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Adolescent Program guides all lead guides hold an AMI diploma or a comparable AMI-certified training. In cases where a Montessori training center is associated with a university, a master’s degree can be earned in conjunction with the Montessori diploma. Even when this is not so, the Montessori training is the equivalent of master’s degree coursework.
This rigorous training ensures all teachers are deeply knowledgeable about the developmental psychology of the students they serve. Many of Arbor's teachers hold certifications for multiple age levels. Additionally, all staff take part in professional development: participating in workshops, attending conferences, or taking university courses to further their education. Supporting ongoing professional development is a core tenet of Arbor's mission and supported by the philanthropy of Arbor's parent community.
