Discover a Community Beyond the Classroom

Our enrollment team looks forward to getting to know your family as you explore an authentic Montessori experience for your child. We invite you to attend events to highlight what makes Arbor unique among Montessori schools. You can contact the Enrollment Office directly at enrollment@arbormontessori.org.

Toddler

Ages 18 months to 3 years

Montessori educators refer to the child from birth to three years as “the joyful child.” Arbor’s Toddler Program aims to fulfill that intrinsic nature. The program focuses on joyful, yet purposeful, learning that fosters independence, creativity and self-esteem.

Primary

Ages 3 to 6 Years

The Primary program is truly a gift to your child. Designed for children between the ages of 3 to 6 years, it is an opportunity to nurture their individual development within the context of a group setting. The result? Self-confidence, joy and a lifelong love-for-learning.

Elementary

Ages 6 to 12 years

The Elementary program offers your child an unparalleled opportunity for growth. Your imaginative, social and creative child needs an environment with appropriate freedom and limitations, with an expansive curriculum to support their curiosity and prepare them for the challenges of the future.

Adolescent

Ages 12 to 14 years

In our adolescent program, adults and students function as a community of learners in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support. Students participate in every facet of a miniature economy, from production and exchange to marketing, advertising, customer service, and more.

Outdoor Program

2nd to 6th years

The Outdoor Program is an integral part of Arbor’s Elementary curriculum and is designed to provide direct experience with the ecology of this bioregion; develop independence and self-confidence; foster personal responsibility and cooperation; offer challenge and adventure; and encourage environmental awareness and responsibility.

Athletics

5th to 8th years

The athletic program is available for 5th through 8th year students. All students are encouraged to join a team and actively participate regardless of skill level. The students compete against other Atlanta-area independent schools. Arbor’s athletic program is funded through the Annual Fund.

Club Programs

1st to 6th years

Throughout the year, Arbor teachers and specialty instructors from the community offer optional classes in subjects such as karate, Lego robotics, chorus, yoga, drama, chess, dance, and soccer. These classes vary from year to year and are offered to different age groups and at different levels of expertise.

Auxiliary Programs

Ages 3 to 12 years

Arbor’s auxiliary programs enrich the children’s school experience by providing a warm, homelike environment and a continuation of the Montessori philosophy of mutual respect, independence and cooperation that children are accustomed to in the classroom.

Founded by Teachers in 1970

“From the beginning, we knew that we wanted to be a non-profit school and a teacher-run school.  We felt that those two criteria would ensure that our new school would always reflect the educational values that we had learned in our training class.  We would never be forced to sacrifice the children’s or the teachers’ experience for the bottom line.” – Betty Litsey, Founder
